The green countryside of PEI is one of the most picturesque areas of Canada.  Small towns, rolling hills, and scenic vista's await.  While staying at our country suite, you are only 15 minutes from Charlottetown , and a close drive to many secrets.

Charlottetown  is the city where Confederation started and has a very active culture community with theater, live music and many fine eating establishments ( some of our favorites listed later).  The Confederation Center has the yearly show Anne of Green Gables as well as other concerts, and many small venues such as Trailside Music Hall feature local and international musicians.  Many grocery stores are available to fill the fridge , as well as fresh seafood markets, and the Charlottetown Farmers Market.

The town of Cornwall is 10 minutes away , and has an Independant grocery store, liquor store, and small restaurants.  World famous Cows Ice Cream is a short drive , and if your looking for coffee and a quick lunch there's Receiver Coffee just next to Cows.

But if you are looking for a true countryside general store, there is no place like Clows Red and White.  I dont think there is anything that they dont have !

A short drive ( 25 minutes) is the North Shore and resort communities of Cavendish and North Rustico. Great white sand beaches and boardwalks to go for a stroll, and the world famous home of Anne of Green Gables.   For the kids, Cavendish has some great amusement parks including Sandspit Amusement park, and the waterslides etc. at Shining Waters.  And there is also the yearly Cavendish Beach Musical Festival , featuring some of the worlds best country music artists every summer.

The Butterfly House in New Glasgow is another winner with the kids, and if they like farm animals, Island Hill farms is a great place to go.

​

The 20 minute drive to the south shore gets you to the red sand beaches and tide pools of the Argyle Shore .
